GRR: Couple wins New Year’s Eve on the town, thanks to their downtown shopping habits

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Zach Pilczuk and his girlfriend, Maria Toranga, are making plans to spend New Year’s Eve on the town thanks to their habit of dining out and shopping in downtown Grand Rapids.

Pilczuk, a speech and language therapist for Spectrum Health, is the first winner ofDowntown Grand Rapids Inc.’s “Give the Gift of Downtown” drawing to promote downtown shopping and entertainment.

MUSKEGON, MI – Nestled inside an old bank building downtown, Muskegon-area residents and visitors on Saturday cruised through a small bazaar featuring everything from fresh pastries and coffee to knick-knacks and earthy apparel.

The affair, also known as the Muskegon Indoor Winter Market, began sluggishly as participants celebrated the second round of the relatively new effort created to promote Muskegon’s up-and-coming district.


Adairsville DDA launches new website for downtown businesses

The Adairsville Downtown Development Authority has taken to the web in order to highlight the businesses and attractions around the city’s central square.

Launched at the beginning of November, the website,, is a central site dedicated to promoting the retailers, services, restaurants and entertainment in downtown Adairsville. DDA Chair Susan Gilmore said the site serves as a counterpart to the city’s website, which focuses more on government operations rather than private businesses.
