Ramada Downtown Dubai, located in Dubai’s most prestigious and vibrant district, has recently hosted the visit of 37 tour operators from various cities of Russia for a Familiarization (FAM) Tour.
The visit has been coordinated by Desert Adventures, Dubai to help the group get familiar and receive first-hand information on the various services and facilities offered by Ramada Downtown Hotel. The property regularly hosts these trips to promote its services and secure more market share from the CIS and Russian region.
The organization that helps promote Vineland’s downtown business district will have a new executive director as of Wednesday.
Gary Holloway will run Main Street Vineland, the group’s board of directors said Thursday.
Holloway is currently manager of Landis MarketPlace, a position he has held since 2010. Holloway will retain some marketing and business recruitment duties at Landis MarketPlace.

Catawba College students said they “tried to find a story” as they analyzed the marketing research data they collected from people visiting downtown Salisbury on special themed event nights this fall. They presented their findings to a modest audience in Tom Smith Auditorium on campus in early December.
These students, enrolled in Dr. Phillip Frank’s marketing research class through the Ketner School of Business, gathered their research using a customized survey completed by 165 downtown visitors. They collected surveys from Friday Nights Out, beginning Sept. 20 with Kids Night (with special activities set up for children). They continued gathering survey responses on three additional evenings: the Oct. 4 Fall Leaf Festival (which included different music venues set up in the downtown area); the Oct. 11 OctoberTour Night (which featured a Zombie walk and contest); and the Nov. 1 Sip and Shop.
Less than a month after creating a contracted position to promote downtown, Bellefonte has applied for its first grant through the new program.
The Borough Council approved a $50,000 grant application for downtown and waterfront district facade improvement through the state Department of Community and Economic Development.
Tourism Minister Hesham Zaazou said that there is a new plan under consideration, aiming to attract foreign investments to the tourism sector, which will be implemented in the beginning of 2014.
Zaazou explained that Egypt’s strategy to bring in investment would be changed from a ‘sit-and-wait approach’ to ‘go-out-and-get’.
The plan entails the appointment of Dr. Ibrahim Al-Ashmawi as Zaazou’s adviser to work towaards promotion and marketing of investment opportunities in international markets and exhibitions.
